Assessment

How progress is measured

Clear, fair and consistent — so students always know where they stand and what to do next.

How is continuous assessment weighted?

Most subjects combine continuous assessment (classwork, homework, projects and tests) with the end-of-term examination. The exact weighting is confirmed in the student handbook at the start of each session.

What are the requirements for promotion?

Promotion depends on termly performance, attendance and conduct. Students who do not meet the required standard may be offered targeted support or a repeat of the year, in discussion with parents.

How often are reports issued?

Reports are issued at the end of each term, with a parent-teacher meeting in the first and second terms. Teachers are also available by appointment throughout the year.

What support is available for students who fall behind?

Subject clinics, peer tutoring and small-group sessions are arranged where needed. Parents are contacted early so that support can be coordinated at home and at school.

How are examination entries handled?

The college guides eligible SS 3 students through WASSCE and NECO registration, including subject selection, fees and deadlines. JSS 3 students are prepared and registered for BECE.
